Transition Stage
Vietnam is in the third stage of the Demographic Transition Model. This is due to several reasons, one being the improved living conditions in Vietnam.
Although the quality of living in Vietnam is very spread out and varying. In some areas, people were wealthy enough to afford not only a large living space, but also a car (which is a sign of status in Vietnam due to the reliance of motor-bikes). In other places, a family could be struggling to send their children to school.
Not to mention the incredible growth of women's rights and education. Today's generation of Vietnamese women have the largest amount of opportunity's than the previous generations to get better education and jobs.
As a final reason for Vietnam being in stage 3 of the DTM, the health care in Vietnam has had major improvements. Since the 1980's, the health care system in Vietnam has been flawed, and by this i mean that it is only available to 30% of the population and forcing them to pay for private health care. Not only that, but most offices have been updated to relatively modern equipment(possibly a model or two older).
